Using Positive Affirmations To Amp Your Life

personal development

One of the things that have really caught on in this day and age, and we are talking about the process of positive and personal development, is positive affirmations, and this comes from the New Age philosophy that says positive messaging would allow you to reprogramme the mind and make improvements into your life.

It is worth noting that having access to the subconscious mind is almost impossible to do and there are no tangible method so far that people can use to talk to their subconscious mind and this is considered tragic for all of us as we have tried long and hard to kick away bad habits and phobias that we have in our minds. One of the things that you might want to be interested in is how to actually get yourself on the positive affirmation programme, and one way that you can do this, is to identify many of the bad things or negative elements in your life, and first and foremost, what you need to do is to take charge and ownership of them.

You need to realise that you have these bad characteristics of yourself and when you have been able to identify this, what you need to know is how to get rid of them. One of the things about positive affirmations is that it allows you to actually speak on these negative elements and speak on them with confidence.Positive affirmations allow you to talk to your inner self, place positive messages into your mind such that your subconscious brain is able to implant them into the everyday processes in your mind.

If you need help on how you are going to craft these messages, what you really need to know how to do is to actually address yourself in these messages, and take the opposite road of the dysfunction in your life.If you are having problems, then go the other way and keep telling yourself that you have control over these problems and you are able to take them and make it better. At the end of the day, positive affirmations all about empowerment and this is the key ingredient to the whole therapy. And also, you need to be able to this on a daily basis, until it becomes something of a practice to you

Do this for 30 mins and you can spread this around the day if you wish to. Some people say that doing this before you sleep allows you to retain those messages even better. If you need specific help on this, then what you can do is to actually just go online and read about some of the positive affirmations that people have been using all the time to improve their lives. By using them, you should be able to achieve some real progress in your life.

Gain Personal Growth in Communication

We’ve all found it rather difficult to develop personal growth in communicating our feelings or thoughts to someone else. Forming all the emotions and thoughts that are jumbled in our heads to a sentence or two can be challenging. However, we need to interact with one another, because it’s what makes this large world go ’round. Instead of becoming frustrated, and assuming that the world just doesn’t understand us, we should try to understand others. You can gain personal growth in communication with others, and here are but a few ways to help you achieve this:

Relax

Don’t become so wrapped up in how something should be or what would make it better. When you communicate with someone, and you have developed preconceived notions on how they should be, you turn them off. Try not to be so firm in your beliefs until you completely hear what the other has to say. Take your time to understand someone, that is the trick. If you don’t have time for someone else, why, praytell, should they have time for you?

Probe

Begin by asking questions when you communicate with someone. After all, people don’t naturally walk up to others and explain everything they feel, want, like, and have been through. When you ask someone who you’re communicating with questions, they feel as though you actually care, and they will start asking you questions. Probing questions are what makes conversations. For example, if a person says they like to eat cheesecake, a good question would be, “What kind?” Simple as it is, it is rather effective, and keeps the conversing on a consistent and non-invasive level.

Listen

A question that is often asked of people is, if they should wait to speak, or actually listen. Forming statements or questions in our heads, and focusing solely on them until the person we’re talking to takes a breath in speech is rude, and reckless. When you abandon a person by waiting to talk we show them that we weren’t very interested to begin with, and rather selfish in this right.

Speak… Honestly

Lies are often uttered to total strangers. These are only white lies, but they are lies, nonetheless. When you meet anyone, or talk to existing friends or family, try to speak with honesty. The more honesty you show, the more personal development you can gain in building integrity. When you speak honestly, you don’t speak or do something opposite to what you feel. Try to apply this concept to every encounter that you may have.

Be the Host

Let’s say, for instance, you go to a party. It’s a small gathering, maybe no more than forty people, and you have to mingle. You can communicate very well by thinking of yourself as the host of the party. Now, don’t lie and say things such as, “I paid a lot of money for this event. Do you like it?” Try to stay in your own roll or flesh as partygoer, but be as inviting, friendly, and comfortable as a host should be. People will begin to flock to you, coming to you for your command of entertainment and conversation.

Balance Yourself

You can most definitely gain personal growth in communication once you simply treat people the same way that you would like to be treated. A warning to you: the more sociable and friendly you become, the more responsibility you hold. You must compare your actions with your words. Your feelings must be expressed in a non-attacking manner. Build those relationships, and further develop personal growth in communication skills.

Improve Your Office Design by Organizing Yourself

The most important feature of good office design is functionality. But too often our offices are crammed with so many office machines, equipment, supplies and pieces of paper that our small or home offices are completely dysfunctional.

Do you have to move things out of the way before you can sit down and work? Are there so many files on your desk that they’re spilling onto the floor? Do you need to contact a search and rescue team to find whatever you’re looking for? Then it’s definitely time to roll up your sleeves and Organize your office.

You can have the most attractive, up-to-date office design available and still not be able to accomplish what you need to do unless you organize your office.

These steps for an office makeover will show you how to organize your desk and your office space so that you have an office design you can both appreciate and work in.

1) Clear the pathways.

A friend had a coffee table in the middle of his office – which made moving from the desk to the filing cabinet a shin-cracking task for anyone without the agility and balance of a trained acrobat. As he never entertained clients in his office, the coffee table was only used when he set things on it. Moving the coffee table out gave him a clear walkway – and saved him a lot of potential shin damage!

Are there obstacles in your office design? Move them or move them out entirely. You need to be able to walk around.

2) Clear your desktop.

There now. Doesn’t that look nice? An office design showpiece! Now for the hard part. Begin to organize your office by looking at your office desk and decide what has to be there. Your computer, obviously. Put it back. Your phone, definitely. Put it back, too. But what else?

Look at all the other stuff you’ve taken off your desk and ask yourself, “Does it have to be on my office desk?” If it’s not something that you use every day to make your work easier, it doesn’t and it’s time to find another place for it.

The stack of papers you’ve been meaning to deal with? Deal with them and file them. The half eaten sandwich from last week. Ugh! You know what to do with that…

3) Get and use caddys and trays to organize your desk and your drawers.

Office supply stores and chain retailers have all kinds of plastic trays and caddies, including those that are designed to fit perfectly into a desk drawer. Use them to get your office supplies organized. Now all those loose pencils, paper clips and thumb tacks have a place to go – and when you want one, you’ll be able to find it.

Stacking trays are ideal for your “inbox” and “outbox” to further organize your desk. They’ll aid you in keeping your office desktop neat and save space.

4) Update your equipment.

What office machines are slowing you down or cluttering up your office design? Does your computer need a memory or hard drive upgrade? Perhaps you could consider getting rid of your old printer, fax machine and scanner and invest in a multifunction printer. Or time to upgrade the primitive touch tone phone to a speaker phone. Increase the functionality of your office design and make more work space available.

5) Get it off your desk.

Clear more work space and organize your office by giving some of your office essentials their own separate space. For instance, your printer or multifunction copier shouldn’t be on your desk. Investing in a printer stand will keep it within a usable distance, free more of that valuable desk real estate, and give you some more shelf storage space for accessories such as printer paper.

Have a small desk and need more room? An occasional table placed next to your desk will add an elegant touch to your office design and serve as an additional working area. (Be sure to select one of the correct height so you can work at it without having to hunch over.)

Is your desk cluttered with books or manuals? Invest in a book shelf, either freestanding or built-in. You’ll be amazed at how much more space you have to work in when you just move a few books off your desk.

How to be Popular – Personal Development

Many questions for your personal development…

Sometimes, it’s best to ask yourself why you want to utilize personal development techniques to become popular in the first place. Why do you want to become popular? Is there someone or something in particular that you want to impress? Once you can answer most of the natural questions that ask why you want what you are striving for, then you are ready to go further in your quest of personal development in becoming popular.

Try mind mapping a personal mission statement to help you design and achieve your ideal life. When you are uncertain where your life is heading, or when you doubt your own abilities, this mission statement will remind you: who you are, what you are determined to achieve, and what you have already accomplished to date.  See the mind map I created to go with this article.

By building yourself a mission statement, you will then have your own personal plan to keep you on track and answerable to yourself. It’s a significant personal compass, and one that you can carry with you at all times.

Be Comfortable and Confident

One of the first things to remember is that confident body language can often help you be more at ease with yourself and who you are. Like moths to a flame, people will cleave to you based on the level of confidence that you exude. It’s true, and often stubbornly accepted, that the more satisfied you become with who you are and the feelings that might surround you, the easier it is to make friends.

Your Style and Look

Just as Picasso, Da Vinci, and Rembrandt crafted and molded masterpieces that incorporated themselves, so must your personal image be carved, painted, shaded, and shaped the best way that represents you. Contrary to what most people would believe, constantly switching up the style of your appearance seems rather desperate for popularity, rather than cemented in confidence of one’s self. For example, a nice short hair cut could do wonders for an individual to bring out their eyes, or smile. These enhancements to your facial appearance give you not only a unique style, but a look that best represents you.

Dress to Impress. So, dress like an apple

I remember my elders telling me that an apple a day keeps the doctor away. I often wonder why we haven’t utilized all this revolutionary information? Why do we refuse to take action? These questions can only be answered honestly by you and perhaps comes down to self discipline. The healthier we are, the better we feel. If you feel great, chances are you will look great too. And if you look healthy, people will most likely be attracted to you. Having a shower every day will help. Need I mention deodorant, a comb through the hair, and a toothbrush to the teeth will aid in anyone’s quest for popularity? I suppose I just did.

Be Passionate

Throughout the years, America, and many other countries, has created movies that dazzle us and shoots us toward some form of personal development. They wrap us in a choke hold of suspense, or they drown us in admiration for a fictional character’s plights, victories, and lessons learned. One common characteristic each hero in these movies has, is passion. Their passion is the reason our breaths become baited with anticipation of their triumph. Those story bound people have what most viewers feel they lack.

Now, if we focus on some real life characters with passion we see why Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, George Lucas, Michael Jackson, Truman Capote, Fred Astaire, and Princess Diana were so popular. In regards to their passion for what they achieved, they astounded many, and bewildered the rest. Do something you love, but have been too afraid to try. With a great spirit and strong passion to share, the more others will want to share with you.

Hesitate To Shine No More

Your gifts and talents should not be hidden from the world. Never hesitate to share your interests with others. By showing all facets of who you are, your knowledge, and your capacity to learn what you didn’t know, will cause people to forge relationships with you, almost instantly! The more people you expose this talent to, the more a ripple effect of popularity and charm with shine over you. Your name will spread faster. But beware of the vanity, arrogant, boastful side effects that infect most individuals who catch the popularity bug. Be humble, and open to new ideas, new people, and new ways to express your thoughts creatively.

Talk It Up

Make sure to keep talking. No, you don’t want to become a chatter bird, constantly rambling on and on to be friendly, while everyone else wants you to shut up. This is the type of talking that is comfortable and reassuring. Ensure that as the saying goes – if you are talking make sure you have something useful to say. After all, that is what communication is all about.

Be adventurous, talk to somebody new each day. Then move on and next week try talking to two new people daily. The next week, try to talk to three, etc. Build this gradual climax towards talking more freely, understanding, and popularly chatting with everyone.

Do Something New

Try to venture out into the unknown and familiarize yourself with it. It is often too easy to sit back in our comfort zone. Move out of your comfort zone and trying something new every once in a while is a great way to gain popularity.

Bear in mind that you should only participate if you really want to, not because you only want the attention for it. Make sure that when you do try something new, it’s because you have an interest in trying it out. Its like ensuring you can swim before holding your breath under water.

Remember to be humble and grateful. These things could be attending a writing class, joining a short term business class, enjoying the theater arts, or celebrating with a wonderful dinner, glass of wine, and chat by the fireplace. Ensure you spend time with people who enjoy what they do, to give you the best opportunity for a positive experience. This will really help in skyrocketing your popularity.

Go With the Flow

Do you remember when you where younger and you discovered a talent you had, one that was magically given to you in the blink of an eye, and you happened to master within two to five minutes? But do you remember talking the talent to someone, a teacher, mom, dad, sibling, or grandparent, and having your talent completely flop and not work. “I did it so many times before,” you’d muffle through embarrassed eyes. Well, you shouldn’t have been embarrassed, because we all have gone through this. Our momentary talent show is ruined, because we are thinking about it too hard. We concentrate so hard on getting it right and not messing up that we end up doing just that.

Just like in the analogy used in the previous paragraph, so must you relate it to the world of popularity? The key to being popular is actually not trying to fit in with everyone, but being yourself, while at the same time embracing new ideas, cultures, races, styles, and entertainment. Try anything once, so long as it is within your boundaries, and if you don’t like it – don ‘t do it again, but at least you tried. The more you are exposed to, the more you understand or have empathy for. The people you meet, and the friends that you make along your way to social stardom will send your spirit soaring through the sky, a shinning star, bright with status, regard, and esteem.

Changing Your Thought Patterns Can Bring You Greater Success

Studies have shown that approximately 20% of our thoughts occur at a conscious level each day. Subconscious thoughts therefore make up the remaining 80% or so of our total number of thoughts.

So, would you be surprised to learn that if only around 20% of what you really desire is currently showing up in your life, it may be that you need to spend some more time consciously working on what you are ‘inputting’ every day to affect what is happening to the other 80%?
